COHORT RECORDINGS

SESSION 1: DISCOVER

One of my favorite insights in this session was Preston's (from his one semester of communications education): "The message is in the receiver." It captures so much of what we're going for in the Discover phase of Story Design. As you create your audience profile and complete the Discover worksheet, you're getting into the shoes of your audience. This is one of the most important steps in the process. Take time. Reflect. Write down all of your thoughts.

SESSION 2: DESIGN

I enjoyed the insights from the breakout rooms, where you shared a personal story. The feeling of vulnerability as the storyteller is normal and the feeling of connectedness as the listener is a common response when the teller is honest in their delivery. Remember, your listeners are enjoying your story!

SESSION 3: UNITE THE STORY WITH THE MESSAGE

Thanks to the group discussion following David's story, we uncovered a powerful combination: Story + Message + Metaphor = IMPACT! Cannot wait for our final session and the delivery of your capstone projects!
